Charis Ann Armstrong
"I'm 6 months old" by: Charis
It was dark and warm in there,
not much room to play.
So, when I got out here,
I decided to stay!
I have had a lot of fun,
and I am learning so much.
Now I can use my hands,
and I really love to touch! (everything)
My dad, he seems so strong,
yet his love it feels so good.
He makes me feel so safe,
like a little girl should!
At bedtime he holds us tight
and says our prayers,
and they put me in my crib...
and he stands there and stares.
My mom, she's the crazy one,
who always wants to play..
I keep hearing her say these words
"sister, you brighten my day!"
We spend all our time together,
every single day.
We tell eachother secrets,
in our own special way.
I love to sleep and love to eat,
and I LOVE to laugh out loud,
and when I look on their faces
it seems like I already make them proud!
I know one day I will grow up,
or so that's what I hear them say.
But for now, I am just enjoying
each and every day!
LOOK AT MY TOOTH!!! SEE! I LOVE TO LAUGH!

Happy Birthday to Me!!

So proud to call him my husband!!!
It all started several months ago...we received a letter in the mail
saying that Woody had been nominated to be a deacon in our church.
We go to a big church, so that was a bit shocking and encouraging.
He has been going through a lot of training, and this past weekend he
was ordained as a deacon of our church.
Years ago, if I heard "I'm a deacon"....I kinda rolled my eyes and thought
" so you are someone who holds the door at church, wears a smile, and
is probably a hypocrite!" Excuse my being harsh, but I didn't really think
much of the christian faith. Until the Lord turned my heart towards Him! He
opened my eyes and showed me that we are ALL hypocrites. We are UNABLE
to be righteous in ourselves....it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to do the right thing all the time! And that is why we NEED JESUS! (end of tangent)
So, as Woody stood up there in front of the church my heart was full of JOY
and my eyes full of TEARS.....because I know that man! I see him inside and
out, I live with him and do life with him daily. The character of this man
truly amazes me, and his love continues to grow. He is so strong in his
faith, and exactly what Charis and I need. He is our protector and our
provider, and he's a good one! I know he will be a blessing to our church
as he has been to me, and so many others. I truly am HONORED to be the
wife of JUSTIN ARMSTRONG!!!
Above: after church celebration. CONGRATS WOODY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!

I know I am biased...but look at that face!

We went jogging in our jogging stroller. Besides the wind, Charis had a great time!
She was in this "pillow case" type onesie and wasn't sure that she could move her arms. If you notice they are straight out. I don't think she even bent them the whole time. :-) I tied her toy to the strap but that didn't work. She didn't even attempt to reach for it. Oh well, she enjoyed the pretty day! LOOK CLOSE... you can see her tooth on the bottom!

Happy New Year!!!

Woody and I were reflecting on all that happened in 2008.
It truly was a great year! We both agreed that our favorite thing was....of course,
Little Miss Priss!!!

We spent New Year's Eve with some friends. (L-R, Jason and Traci, Will and Heather, Woody and me.) These are some of our closest friends. It was nice to have a "date". Charis stayed home with a babysitter. I only called twice to check on her. The rule given was I could only call once...but I broke that rule! We loved being out, but couldn't wait to get home and see her. Of course she was sleeping. So, we watched T.V and rang in the New Year together.

The start of a great New Year!!! Woody and me

We may be parents...but we still like to be silly!

Heather, Traci, and me

This is my best friend Traci. We have been friends for years, and actually were roomies in college. She was my Maid of Honor, and is just part of our family!

Fun times with my hubby!!
