Final Countdown...

As most of you know we are days away from the much awaited arrival of our baby girl...Charis Ann Armstrong (pronounced Karis). What an exciting time!!
After 7 wonderful months of marriage we unexpectedly found out that we were 3 weeks pregnant. SURPRISE!! So, the past 9 months have been full of many different emotions, planning, preperation and lots of prayer as we journey into parenthood. Though this was not "planned" we strongly believe Psalm 127:3 which tells of children being a "blessing from the Lord". So from the beginning we have been humbled and honored that the Lord would allow us to have a family. He has done this in His perfect timing, and we have learned that His timing may not always make "sense", but it is always best!
The past 9 months have been such a sweet time in our marriage...challenging, yes- but so sweet. Here's a short re-cap: 18 weeks of me being sick...and I mean 24/7 sick!! Justin was so sweet and caring as he took care of me, the house, and whatever else had to be done. Then I began to come back to life, and in Feb. mom flew in and went to the doctor with us to find out that "baby Armstrong" was a GIRL!! After much prayer and contemplation we decided that I would not continue to teach in the fall. Instead I will stay home with the baby! This is a big sacrifice financially, but we believe that it is worth it for our family!
I have been so amazed by my husband and the way he is already thinking for our family, putting us first! I have seen even more of his godly character and love through all of this, and am daily thankful to have married this man!! We are so excited about learning to be parents together....and raising a family! Is this too good to be true?!
Charis is due July 18, but the doctor said it could be any day. We are longing more and more every day to meet our daughter, and hold her in our arms. Stay tuned.....hopefully she will be here soon!

The Armstrong Journey
